冰糖葫芦(Bing Tang Hu Lu)/Candied Haw in a Stick

冰糖葫芦(Bing Tang Hu Lu)/Candied Haw in a Stick
This was taken in 01/10/2010 at the snack street 王府井(Wang Fu Jing) in Beijing. This entire is filled with stalls selling popular Chinese street food.

Bing Tang Hu Lu translates to 'Candied Haw in a Stick', it is when the fruit, Hawthorn, is dipped in a coating of caramelised sugar. However nowadays, many different fruits are also used as seen in the picture above. This is a favourite snack for many Chinese natives and a must try when going to Beijing!

Blueberry Swiss Roll

Blueberry Swiss Roll
Look what I made with my mum!~
Even though the process of making it was pretty simple, the taste was amazing. The sponge was very soft and moist, while the inside was filled with fresh cream and big sweet blueberries (a pity they were frozen as they aren't in season yet).

Yum! Can't wait to make this again :)
